Bertie Marshall


Bertie Marshall is a writer and performer of plays, poems, and fiction. His books include the debut novel Psychoboys and the critically acclaimed memoir Berlin Bromley on his role as a founder of the notorious Bromley Contingent of punk fans in the mid-1970s.

He is also the author of Nowhere Slow and the novella From Sleepwalking to Sleepwalking. In 2017, Marhsall took part in Re-Write as a ‘critic as artist’ in an exhibition curated by Michael Bracewell.

Marshall is a recent recipient of The Gilbert and George Arts Foundation award for outstanding writing. In 2021, he released Exhibit a compilation album of songs and spoken word tracks from the 80s and 90s. His next novel Kodeia is forthcoming.
