Publishing

Verdurin is a cultural project space concerned with art, literature, and criticism outside the constraints of institutional fashions and consensus. Through live conversations, courses, and exhibitions, it has created an environment for serious artistic and intellectual engagement. Verdurin’s imprint extends this ethos to publishing, establishing a space dedicated to literary and critical work that will shape culture, rather than only reflect it.

Verdurin champions writing that is intellectually fearless, aesthetically uncompromising, and free from cliché, moral posturing, or institutional constraint. The publication programme privileges truthfulness, complexity, and risk over ideological certainty.

Following 2025’s critical essay collection Inversion, Verdurin’s 2026 titles include Liam Blackford’s debut dys/utopian novel The Stud, Quentin S. Crisp’s haunting novella The Hermitage. 2027 will see the launch of Genius Loci, a series of non-fiction works blending true crime, sociology, topography, and cultural analysis.

Together, these projects herald the imprint’s intention to cultivate work that is provocative, original, and committed to retrieving the energies of risk, artistic ambition, and cultural depth formerly thought lost.

The imprint brings together Pierre d’Alancaisez, Nina Power, Travis Jeppesen, Amir Naaman, and Emma Bielecki as commissioning editors.
