Brian Evenson is the author of a dozen books of fiction, most recently the novel Phantom Limb and the short story collection Good Night, Sleep Tight. His story collection Song for the Unraveling of the World won the Shirley Jackson Award and the World Fantasy Award and was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times’ Ray Bradbury Prize. His novel Last Days won the American Library Association’s RUSA award for Best Horror Novel of 2009.
The Open Curtain, about a young boy obsessed with a series of historical murders by the grandson of a Mormon prophet, was a finalist for an Edgar Award and an International Horror Guild Award. His 2003 collection The Wavering Knife won the IHG Award for best story collection.
He is the recipient of three O. Henry Prizes, an NEA fellowship, and a Guggenheim Award. His work has been translated into more than a dozen languages. He lives in Los Angeles and teaches in the Critical Studies Program at CalArts.
