Emma Bielecki is a lecturer, writer, and researcher specialising in French cultural history. She splits her time between London and nineteenth-century Paris.
Her work focuses on the interchanges between literary aesthetics and other forms of cultural expression (fashion, stage magic, silent cinema, collecting practices). Her monograph The Lives of Vidocq: Celebrity, Criminality and the Novel in Nineteenth-Century France will appear in autumn 2026.
