Nicholas Blincoe
Rochdale-born Nicholas Blincoe is a novelist, screenwriter, and historian. He completed a PhD on Derrida’s debt to economics at Warwick University, as the first student of Accelerationist Nick Land.
He won the CWA Silver Dagger for his third novel, Manchester Slingback. He co-edited All Hail the New Puritans, an anthology of new writing using strict rules, with his friend Matt Thorne.
After twenty years living between Bethlehem and London, he wrote two histories of Palestine and Israel. He has written films and television, including the feature film 8 Minutes Idle (again, with Matt Thorne).
His forthcoming book, Oliver Twist and Me, explores Charles Dickens’s interest in abandoned children, through his debt to Nicholas’s ancestor, the memoirist Robert Blincoe.
Nicholas lives in Shoreditch with his partner, the documentary producer Janet Lee.
