Suzanne Newcombe

Susanne Newcombe is a researcher and lecturer in Religious Studies at the Open University. Her work focuses on the sociology and social history of religion, with expertise in minority religious movements, modern yoga, and the intersections of religion, health, and healing. She is particularly interested in how religious beliefs interface with broader social tensions, including conspiracy theories and contested practices.

She has been closely associated with Inform, a charity offering evidence-based information on minority religions, and currently serves as its Honorary Director.
