David Roden is a philosopher, writer and musician interested in dubious alternatives to our current existence. His 2014 monograph Posthuman Life: Philosophy at the Edge of the Human explores the ramifications of Speculative Posthumanism: the thesis that there could be agents originating in human social systems that become ‘disconnected’ from the human world as a result of some technological alteration.
His horrorotica and theory/fiction output includes Letters from the Ocean Terminus (2016), Snuff Memories (2021), and Xenoerotics(2023). Until 2024 he taught philosophy at the Open University. He is currently working on a fourth book, provisionally titled The Bubble War.
